  1. A meeting of all neighbors that would like to help to plan a response to this latest action will be held on Thursday evening at Sertino's Cafe located next to Office Max. Were trying for a 7:00 or 7:30pm start. Post a comment if you will be able to make it.

  4. I would like to be there, but am presently overseas. Some thoughts:
Who pays for the widening of 1044? It will have to happen to accommodate the traffic - developer must, not my tax dollars. Since we on Loma Verde have only one convenient means of exiting the area, I do not want to have to wait for all the traffic that this will generate.
What is planned in the strip mall? That would concern me more than the luxury apartments.
Builder’s website no longer shows the development plan. I remember that it said something abouth “there will be plenty of green belt areas in the development.” For whom? If it is behind gates and walls, it will not help me – The property is too densely developed.
Greystone, the property manager’s sites in New Braunfels:(Braunfels Place 1231 Huisache Ave. & Cotton Crossing 705 Village Way) do not look like they are equivalent of those in Houston, for example: (Domain at City Center 811 Town and Country Blvd Houston, TX 77024 & Creekstone 10440 Deerwood Drive Houston, TX 77042). Why not? Do they think we will accept less?
This are the ideas that came to me immediately.

  5. If you believe that the planning commission is willing to listen to homeowners concerns and act on them, you are sadly mistaken. They are concerned about two things: tax revenue and property rights. Everything else takes a back seat, including the concerns of Loma Verde homeowners. Where are the green belts drawn in the master plan? There is no master plan - it is a figment of the imagination - the only plan is to take care of the developers.

Yes, I am sure that the City Planning Commissioner(s) are primarily concerned about the generated tax revenue and property rights (what about our property rights) but, when the vast number of homeowners from both Loma Verde and Mockingbird Heights showed up at the August 3rd meeting it did make a statement. That statement was that we will not just sit by and have this development shoved down our throats. Therefore, we must remain solid in this quest to see that this project is rejected as presented.
